This session will examine the Wikimedia Foundation's Defensive Litigation efforts, which are designed to protect the Wikimedia projects, contributors, and content from legal threats across jurisdictions. As legal demands grow more complex and extraterritorial in nature, the Foundation remains committed to safeguarding contributor rights while complying with applicable legal obligations. The session will outline key legal principles guiding the Foundation's approach, address the limitations imposed by procedural laws, and provide an opportunity to clarify questions the Community may have regarding recent litigation-related matters. The objective is to strengthen trust through transparency and reaffirm the Foundation's continued dedication to defending the Wikimedia projects and the communities that sustain them.
