Hi! I'm Olga and I'm a principle product manager at the Wikimedia Foundation. I think about a lot about the readers of Wikimedia projects and work to make their experience on the site better and more engaging.
Sessions
The internet is changing rapidly, and so is how people discover and consume information. Over the next fiscal year, and into the future, the Wikimedia Foundation is placing more focus on attracting and building meaningful relationships with new readers so that we can protect the future of our movement, ensuring that humans have access to free knowledge for years to come. We wanted to start a discussion on which problems in this space are the most important and brainstorm solutions.
This session will explore how the Web and Mobile Apps teams of the Wikimedia Foundation have been working to engage and deepen our connections with our readers and donors to help ensure our movement’s long-term sustainability.
We would like to present current work and findings, as well as sketch out a direction for the future. We would like to discuss the way we approach retaining new and existing generations of readers on our platforms, and how we leverage experimentation and new technologies to achieve our goals.
We would also like to create space to brainstorm together and discuss how communities can work with us to build for current and future Wikipedia readers.
