As a passionate advocate for open knowledge, I’ve dedicated my career to expanding access to information and empowering people to contribute to it. With a Master’s in Library and Information Science and a background in product management for crowdsourced information platforms, I bring a unique perspective to my role on the Growth team at the Wikimedia Foundation. Based in the U.S., I focus on supporting readers and editors on mobile devices, engaging younger generations in the movement, and finding ways to simplify getting started on the wikis.
Sessions
This session hopes to be a listening space where organizers can share their experiences in introducing newcomers to or training newcomers with the Growth features - features that the WMF Growth team developed to support newcomers to overcome barriers in contributing and continue to contribute to Wikipedia (e.g., what are common questions organizers receive from newcomers with regard to Growth features usage). This session will end with a brainstorm conversation on our potential path forward: how we can join forces in fueling newcomers growth in our movement.

With active editor numbers declining, Wikimedia’s Contributor Strategy aims to create a clearer, more engaging path for participation. This session, led by the WMF Contributors group, involves Editing, Growth, Moderator Tools, and Campaigns teams. It will highlight efforts to streamline contributor experiences, offer structured and mobile-friendly workflows, and foster meaningful engagement. Join us to learn more and share feedback to help shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for Wikimedia contributors.
