My name is Anna Torres Adell and i was born and raised in Europe but I have been living in LATAM for more than 20 years. I have been involved in the Wikimedia Movement for 12 years. For +10 years I was the ED of Wikimedia Argentina where I worked to promote the development of the organization as well as to accompany the growth of the Latin American community. Currently I work for the WMF.
Sessions
This session will present the Movement Ecosystem paper, one of the pilot projects initiated by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees following the Movement Charter resolution. We will provide an overview of the Movement Ecosystem paper its development process and key conclusions.
This session will examine how the Wikimedia Global Resource Distribution Committee (GRDC) and Regional Grants Committees (RGCs) contribute to advancing inclusivity, impact, and sustainability in the Wikimedia Movement. The presentation will introduce the role of the GRDC's on resource distribution, based on its proposal, and discuss the critical role of RGCs in empowering volunteers through capacity building and regional community development. A dynamic open forum will follow, inviting attendees to share experiences, raise questions, and discuss innovative approaches to resource distribution and volunteer engagement.
