Wikimedia LGBT+ is a Wikimedia user group dedicated to supporting the LGBT+ community and enhancing the representation of LGBT+ content across Wikimedia projects.
This user group has an especially active community in two primary languages, English and Spanish, and regularly organizes initiatives such as monthly editing contests and awareness campaigns on impactful topics, including Wiki Loves Pride and the HIV/AIDS campaign. Additionally, it is the organizing group behind the Queering Wikipedia Conference.
Following years of sustained efforts in building free knowledge and fostering community engagement, Wikimedia LGBT+ recently received a community grant. In this session, we aim to present the work of WMLGBT+ volunteers and introduce the newly formed team leading these initiatives.
