Bangla WikiConference 2026

Call For Session Proposal

Theme

This guide has been prepared for anyone interested in submitting a session proposal for Bangla WikiConference 2026. It explains the proposal submission process, selection criteria, thematic tracks, and the key guidelines for developing a high-quality, diverse, and engaging program. Please read this guide carefully before preparing and submitting your proposal.

Purpose

In continuation of the previous edition, a theme has been set for the Bangla WikiConference 2026: Open Knowledge, Collaboration, Sustainable Future. This theme is one of the foundations for the conference's program planning and session selection. It is not just a slogan, but a vision that encourages the spread of open knowledge, collaborative initiatives, and long-term sustainable development. We welcome session proposals that are consistent with this theme and can make a meaningful contribution to the current challenges, opportunities, and future development of the Bangla Wikimedia community.

Our pledge

Participant-centered session: We believe that every topic has a format best suited to presenting it effectively. That is why, in addition to traditional presentations, the conference encourages a variety of session formats, including workshops, panel discussions, and experience-sharing sessions. When submitting your proposal, choose the format that best supports your content and helps you engage your audience. Regardless of the session format, all proposals will be evaluated fairly and given equal consideration.
Equality in participation: The Bangla Wikimedia community is made up of people with diverse experiences, skills, and backgrounds. We want this diversity to be reflected throughout the conference program, and everyone will have an equal opportunity to participate. We warmly encourage session proposals from both new and experienced contributors.

  • Submitting a session to the conference will not affect the selection of the fellowship. Similarly, receiving a scholarship does not mean that a session will be selected for the conference program. These two selection processes will be conducted completely independently.
  • An individual can submit a maximum of 2 sessions. This will ensure the participation of a greater number of speakers and new voices and increase diversity in the program.

Quality program: Our goal is to organize a conference where each session is meaningful, practical, and inspiring for the participants. Therefore, the content, preparation, and quality of the presentation of the proposals will be evaluated seriously. If necessary, assistance will be provided in the preparation of the selected speakers.
Building through collaboration: The Bangla WikiConference is a collaborative event. If the content of multiple proposals is close or complementary, the organizing team may propose to combine them into a joint session with the consent of the respective proposers. This will create an opportunity for a more integrated, diverse, and rich exchange of knowledge.
