Wikimedia has developed its own distinctive way of communication. This includes, cooperation, conflict handling, events etc. The Wiki way of communication has genuine strengths, but also genuine costs. On one hand, Wikimedia may prove to be a safe harbor for people who otherwise don't fit into society, on the other, it may be a place in which ostracisation takes place in its own way. Wikimedia is not a monolith, experiences within it vary widely. Gender, sexual identity, and, neurodiversity, all play a role in these experiences, and these experiences intersect. This session brings together different perspectives to examine where the current system falls short, especially for contributors whose experiences sit outside the usual frame.
