This paper introduces the Transgender Media Portal (TMP, [https://www.transgendermediaportal.org/](https://www.transgendermediaportal.org/)). Laura Horak, a Film Studies professor at Carleton University, started the project when she realized that many online LGBT film resources were very light on trans content, and often featured films that were not made by trans creators. The Transgender Media Portal, which has been live since 2024, is like a trans IMDB. It features almost 1700 films and television episodes from the early 1900s to the present day. There’s a rich and creative history of trans filmmaking in North America in every genre, and the TMP is the perfect place to find out about all the great trans-made films that are out there. The TMP technical team is starting to create linked data and are interested in exploring minting URIs in Wikidata and creating Wikidata pages about films listed in the site. We would be glad of the opportunity to present the project and ask after best practices for creating Wikidata entries for films of this kind, in ways that are both beneficial to the queer Wikimedia community and that foster understanding about the long history of trans-made filmmaking. <br>
