Wiki Loves Pride (WLP) began in 2014 as a series of small events organized in different cities with the modest goal of improving LGBTQ+-related content across Wikimedia projects. Since then, it has grown into one of the Wikimedia movement’s most recognized global campaigns, regularly featured in the press, encompassing multilingual editing drives, photo contests, prizes, in-person events, presentations and many other activities organized or supported by numerous Wikimedia affiliates.

In this session, we will look back at the history of Wiki Loves Pride and reflect on what the campaign has achieved over the past twelve years, with a particular focus on the results of the 2026 edition, which became the most successful edition in the campaign's history. We will also look ahead to discuss what comes next: our goals for the coming years, the challenges and opportunities facing the campaign, and how we plan to engage even more communities, contributors and languages around the world.
