<p>“A map is not the territory.” According to English Wikipedia the phrase “was first introduced by Alfred Korzybski in his 1931 paper "A Non-Aristotelian System and Its Necessity for Rigour in Mathematics and Physics,"” It’s is a quote I continually return to because it’s a shorthand way of reminding us that the representation of something is not the same as the thing in reality. In this talk I will explore these relating to the territories of knowledge, technology, and community.</p>
