What would Wikipedia look like if it grew from your language, your knowledge system and your traditions? This workshop invites the participants to collectively imagine futures for an Indigenous Wikipedia, a knowledge space around your knowledge systems, your practices of validation, sharing and protecting knowledge. The workshop draws on participatory “future workshop” and sociotechnical imaginaries methods, and is organized in three stages. 1. **Setting the stage:** Briefly sharing the main challenges we face today. Conclude with acknowledging them, and agreeing to ignore them for the rest of the session! 2. **The Indigenous Wiki - 2046:** Together we travel to the year 2046. At this time the perfect Indigenous Wikipedia already exists. Who uses it? How is knowledge verified? How does it handle dialects, offline access, community control, sensitive knowledge? We organize in small groups. The discussions will be guided, and each group presents their output on a poster. The participants choose what language to use on their posters, they are free to mix languages, if that makes sense. 3. **Sharing and taking action:** The groups share some main insights from the posters and we will have a conversation in the group about insights during the process. Can some changes already be made? After the workshop, the posters can be displayed in the poster area of the conference to stimulate further discussions. After the conference, the content of the posters and discussions in the session will be further analysed, and maybe brought to a hackathon.
