Artificial intelligence can only understand a language if it has heard it. For most of the world's minority languages, AI has never heard a single word. Mozilla Common Voice is an open-source platform that allows communities to record and validate voice clips in their own languages, building the datasets that power Automatic Speech Recognition systems, voice assistants, and other AI tools. This workshop introduces participants to Mozilla Common Voice from the ground up. It explains what the platform is, why voice data matters for AI and language technology, and how any language community can contribute. The Dagbani dataset, currently live and growing on Common Voice, will serve as the central case study. Participants will learn how the Dagbani community built its dataset, what challenges were faced, and what has been achieved so far. From there, the session moves into hands-on practice. Participants will record and validate voice clips on Common Voice for their own languages during the workshop. They will leave with a clear understanding of how to sustain and grow a dataset within their own communities. <br>
