Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how knowledge is created, accessed, and verified. In education spaces where Wikipedia already plays a vital role, AI tools present both powerful opportunities and complex challenges. This panel brings together education program leaders working across different regions to examine how AI intersects with Wikipedia in formal and informal learning environments. How are educators integrating AI responsibly into Wikimedia assignments? How do we protect reliability while embracing innovation? What does equity look like when AI systems are trained on uneven global knowledge representation? Panelists will share practical experiences from their programs, including classroom integration, academic integrity concerns, bias mitigation, student skill development, and the evolving role of open knowledge in an AI-driven ecosystem. The discussion will also explore how Wikimedia communities can proactively shape AI conversations rather than react to them.
